those things are staged. Someone in OT mentioned they went to a taping of Best Motoring (im guess the vid posted is similar to bm if it isn't) and the drivers slow down n stuff to let others pass to make it look better. Oh wells, still entertaining.

Staged?..I'm not sure but most of the racing looked like they were going balls to the wall..
On the first lap the lude almost went off (in the corck screw section at the beginning) to keep ahead of the other guys..

And if thats staged why would they let the lude pull out a second over the others and then ditch in the grass?..Oh , I guess "they" told him:"hey man you have to let the others go by, now ditch it...."

I think thats a little unlikely...

Plus...all the cars there are pretty evenly mached allready, I don't think that they would have to "stage" a close race...

maybe the ditch into the grass wasnt staged, but its entirely possible that its staged in the degree of small delays in shifting or acceleration to make the race more interesting. it is entertainment afterall.

I like watching the heal to toe stuff.. Thats pretty cool. No way in hell could i do that, but i'm slow at downshifting anyways. I dont "blip" the throttle, i take it up to where i need to be to downshift smoothly, hit the gear, then let off gas.

I think at the end it shows the Type S with the slowest lap time, I can't read Japanese so it's hard to tell exactly but I think it was 1'20 while the others were 1'18
