Naw, Pocky's right. There IS a super VAFC. Not just the S-AFC, but the Super VAFC is just the newer version of the VAFC. I'm not sure what the differences really area, except that the face has a different set of buttons. I think it's got a dial instead of the four buttons. I'm not sure what other features differentiate it though.

Well, according to the 2003 Price Listing, t he part #s you have listed are:

401-A008 Oil Temp Sensor Adapter (Mazda/Mitsubishi)
401-A908 V-AFC ---you got this one right..

On the Japanese site, they show the AVC-R, Super AFC II, and V-AFC...nothing else in the way of AFCs...

you are probably thinking of this: Apex'i Super AFC II.

As far as I know, there is no Super V-AFC.

http://www.jmdracing.com/store/produ...product_id=549
http://www.importpartsplus.com/index...3&prod_id=1428
http://www.xs4all.nl/~gordana/electronics.htm
http://www.i-m-racing.com/apexivtecafc.html

and a bunch more. i'm guessing its a newer model of it..?

i just checked it again,
the Oil Temp Sensor Adapter (Mazda/Mitsubishi) is actually
403-A008

so it might still possible that there is a new Super V-AFC...

the newer safc has more points you can map the fuel curve at, plus a facelift (possibly more features, I haven't reasearched much into the new version). I would imagine the next vafc will have the same features.

AFC was the first Air fuel controller realsed by Apexi. Its consisted of manual Dials that were set with a screwdriver for different points on the RPM curve. It did not have a screen and fancy Graphics, and has been discontinued for several years. Some racers I know still prefer this model over the newer one.

The S-AFC (Super-AFC) is the one that looks and functions exactly the same as the V-AFC but without the VTEC control option... This version model is what most people are currently refering to when they talk about Air Fuel controllers.. and it is still very poplular with cars that do not need the VTEC function (Subaru, H23, Nissan)..

The S-AFCII is the one pictured above. It was just released in the last 3-4 months... and is still quite rare...and expenisve.. Differences other than the outward appearance are fuel mapping at 250 rpm increments (as opposed to 500 rpm increments), a datalogger that retains numbers (Max rpm, graphs of run playback, etc.) after you shut off the power, and some sort of anti-theft code (like the stock radio)...

AVC-R is a Turbo controller...

BTW I have an older Apexi- AFC (original) for $150.00 if anyone is interested. I also have a first generation RSM (no G-sensor capabilities) up for sale as well...

Ok I went to a convention a month ago with Apexi reps, a V-afc2 is on its way, the main differences of it are that cars such as Toyotas, Nissans and other vehicles with variable valve timing you will be able to control with V-afc2 but it wont be out till around september they say

ok i just called apex'i usa, and they cleared it up for me

the 401-A008 and the 401-A908 are the exact same thing, its just that the A008 is for the japanese market whereas the A908 is for the US. only difference is the documentation (japanese vs english) and probably easier for us to get warranty for the US version.
