well.. i got a lot done myself today!! (yes.. no help from anyone!)
all that is left is taking the trans to someone b/c something appears to be bouncing around on the inside.. my dad will cover the cost... i'm not messing with the freakin' thing.. he disassembled the trans from my old engine so he thinks he might have done something wrong.. oh well..
all i have to do is salvage the wiring harness.. timing belt.. and put the tranny on and it's all done.. this is the 3rd official weekend i've been able to work on it..
my old engine spun a bearing badly.. the oil pan was filled with so much metal... 2 broken valve springs and i blew the headgasket..
Congrat's Irene. Keep going the project is almost done now. BTW: what internal part is rattling in the tranny-let us know.

Thanks to KONI, KIRK Racing, Longacre, UPRacing, Summit, Racing Electronics and my crew.
you have not done the timing belt, wire harness and transmission yet? Did you drop the engine already? It alot easier to do that stuff b4 you drop the engine.. Im on day 3 of my swap. All i have left to do is bleed the clutch. I started it today, took about a good 10 mins of cranking b4 it started. So if yours does not start right away dont worry.
What engine are you dropping? JDM h22a? Got anymore details.
Man your car died hard!! haha mine spun a bearing badly also thats why i swapped.

i have a 3rd gen... and no money.. so i just did the JDM b20a... it's good for turbo but it's actually going to be a daily driver for mike and i.. so no turbo for her...
i didn't do the timing belt on the jdm engine yet... no problems getting the transmission off of the old engine.... i haven't even tried the wiring harness... my dad said he might have some time this week to try it...
so i have an empty engine bay i'll get mike to get some pics this next weekend... everytime he comes over he forgets his camera..
It's nice to hear about a different swap. Keep up the great work, and I hope that everything works itself out!!

damn right.. h22s are getting trendy for the 3rd gens
Trendy, but BAD ASS!!!! I like what you're doing more, but I wouldn't f@ck w/ a lighter 3rd Gen w/ a JDM H22, hehehehe. I'd f@ck even less w/ the already played out H22'd turbo hatch (played out, but my dream, nevertheless).

if i wouldn't have to drive my car almost daily.. i'd consider an h22 swap.. but it's a daily driver and mike's car will be the fun lil car until we graduate college.. get real jobs and we'll probably both get mini coopers hehe
