Traded in Prelude SS for Prelude SH

I GOT A PRELUDE SH!

Well this evening I went with 3 friends, to go look at a 1999 Prelude SH silver w/ 38k miles on it.

Trade in my 2001 Prelude SS w/ 20k miles on it.

Paid $5k extra with tax, licnese, and finance.

* * *

I'm so happy though! I fallen in love with the Prelude all over again. Its like night and day, when comparing auto to manual.

Don't get me wrong, I loved my Prelude SS.. but ever since the auto transmission blew out on me, I became devastated. From then on.. everything just went down hill. AEM CAI would always rattle at the stops and DC Sport Headers would make a clicking sound at 3k rpm. So it was just a pain, everytime I drove the car.

So this evening... I traded my car. I know I could probably had done a tranny swap for 3k. But it probably wouldnt have been the same.. atleast not like a orignal prelude. Plus I got a SH now and its silver hella lot easier to clean.

I feel like I'm reborn again. =)))

I wish all Prelude SS best of luck with their cars. And that you never have problems with your tranny!

I know where you're coming from man. SS tranny died on me at 50k, and trading it in for a 2001 5-spd was a great decision. The 5-spd is so much more fun to drive I just wish I could drive it decently

I agree. Thats why I did it right the first time by buying a 5spd.

one question though. do you rather prefer the SH or base 5-speed?

swaping 5spd from ss is way more work and costly than selling the ss and buying a 5spd. ignore joedaddy, he's just bitter because he's still got his ss

yeah tax, registration, and finance really kicked my ass there

we all know SS transmission don't hold up well. I didn't want to take the chance of 5 years down the line my transmission blowing again. =[ Plus my headers were cracked at the mount, and AEM CAI was rattling like a mofo at stops. And a few nicks and dings.

* * *

on the side note.. went driving in the SH today! Had a blast.. friends showed me some nice straight aways and curves!! HAHA chirped my tires with only a 4k launch and had some wheel spin in 2nd. FUN!!!

Got to learn the feel of ATTS! Well I think I did..friends said they heard only 1 tire screech when losing traction as oppose to 2

gochoo82: I like the SH better then a 5 speed. Cuz the SH has nicer rims, ATTS, and spoiler. Granted ppl will say just get the base..and later on get a LSD. But that alot of work invovled in that. And the SH only weighs a few pounds more..

atts is fun

but don't think it'll help you out of every corner. You can still understeer like a normal base, the smoother you turn the wheel the smoother atts can actuate and adjust. In the end you will have a cool magical push that will make you wonder if the car is posessed. Passengers won't be able to tell when atts does work though. The amount of tire squeal doesn't represent atts either... just accelerate earlier out of a corner and you will feel it. it's subtle but also noticeable.

Do you have any idea how painful it is to some of us to read your posts? Do everyone a favor and take a little time to type your responses so you don't sound like a 12 year old wanna be from SHO.

Agreed. If you're asking a serious question...take an extra minute or two and use correct English. I think everyone would appreciate it.

Not trying to single you out - you're not the only one.

take this route: take CA-17S down to Santa Cruz, and then take CA-9 back up with the last stretch on Skyline Boulevard... the ultimate ATTS route

I'll warn you ahead of time though.... NO snap lane changes, and don't push the skidpad above 60-80 mph. (two fellow luders have eaten the wall that way, one of them burst into flames.) just be careful.
