Syncromesh with the JDM LSD tranny?

Ok my buddy with a h22 Civic. Is having 5th dreaded 5th gear grind! I was SO impressed with what it has done for me. Completely ilimited the grind. Now the only reason that we have not tried it on his car is the fact that he has a LSD. And to my knowledge is that it is a Clutch pack LSD. Now to my understanding this GM Syncromesh was started with the NSX guys and then to the ITR guys. Now both of them come equipped from the factory with that same style LSD. Does anyone see a problem with trying this?

I dont see why there would be any problem with using it. Its just a different kind of transmission oil.

Clutch-type LSD's normally require a specific tranny oil. I would be worried about using a different type of oil.

I do know that Honda OEM LSD's are gear type and in that case you should be okay with a different type of oil.

I thought that the H22 lsd was a Clutch pack? (many friction discs)

Nope, the stock JDM LSD's are helical gear type and can take normal tranny fluid.
