sparco shift knob

anyone know how to get this stupid thing off? the top plate unscrews, and the black grip part unscrews, then its just the silver metal part but i cant get any grip to try and spin it off

if its like mine, you have to loosen the nut on the bottom side by screwing it down more. turning the nut to the left is what tightens it. i believe its a 14mm.

mine doesnt have a nut, unless its underneath the whole shift knob? its not anywhere i see, when you unscrew the black part theres just the thread of like a mini bolt thats inside the bottom silver part, maybe the secret is to loosen that somehow?
