some 5th gen night shots...

it seemed like a nice night, so i pulled off the bridge and took a few pictures. unfortunately i didn't have a tripod so they're blurry.

this one probably would've been the money shot, but it's way too shaky. another time i'll bring the new camera and the tripod too....

Nice shots of the car. I've always wanted to do that. Where off the bay bridge did you stop at?

treasure island... the left hand exit coming from the city. make a u when you get to the naval base entry gate, then park illegaly in front of the guardrail like i did. there are a bunch of spots too, but they're usually full of losers peering through the telescopes and making out.

it would be pretty sweet to go there one night with a dozen ludes or so and take all the spots, then get the money shot of a bunch of preludes at night. it would probably have to be some obscene hour to get all the spots.

Nice pics! Is it me, or your car looks kinda gold due to the limited lighting?

white balance is probably off... the camera most likely used an auto balance more suited to the moonlight or city lights in the distance, whereas the car was lit by a street lamp above.

I see. If it were tweaked any more, it would look like one of those brownish-tinted black and white pics.

Looks soooooo nice. Very beautiful city... I haven't been there but all the pics I see are so nice. I need to find a place to take a picture like that.

Wow awesome pics... I had no idea SF had such a great skyline. The rims are phatty also.

My trick for taking night shots is use the timer function and place the camera on a stable surface (another car or my toolbox).. can't always get the best composition, but that's what cropping's for.

you don't want to use the flash for these kinds of pictures unless you can also keep the shutter open for a second or so. you need a tripod to do it right. there was a post on this a while back, search for "f-stop" and "aperture" and "night" and you'll see it.
