Shock clunk fixed with a washer.

My newly acquired 97 had the dreaded clunking shock. I read all the posts about it. Flopped the rear seat down removed the trunk liner on the passenger side (the clunking shock on on the right), removed the nut, installed a large washer with a center opening to go over the sleeve, tightened nut and clunk gone. Took all of about 10 minutes.

pics please, and someone with educated experience please chime in, I have brand new suspension and am freshly lowered (just 1.3) and I have shock knock in the rear and never had it before on stock suspension. I have friends who simply put lowering springs on stock struts and have no shock knock. I though I was going the extra mile by getting tockico hp struts as well. I am slowly getting used to shock knock.

I went to Honda and bought the new replacement parts (P/N: 52728-S30-004). Honda T.S.B. 00-090. Also you can leave it on the ground and do it from inside the trunk in case someone didnt know.

See the chunky washer in between the rubber and the top.

Picked up and installed new damper collars in the rears. There is only a slight difference maybe 3-5mm between them.
