i dont understand that shift light, would the AC vents just light up when i'ts time to shift or something?

Yes, but just that one vent. It's just clean how the owner hides it in there instead of mounting it on the dash or something.

I was thinking of hiding a shift light in the vent, but I was wondering when I use heat... Wont that get too hot for the shiftlight?

I wouldn't think so. If you think about it, it gets hotter in your car when it sits in the sun compared to when you have the heater on.
