S2k push start problems!!!!! help plz!

ok so i didnt have a problem wiring it up puttin the relay in or anything, i followed Natc99s write up, its great and i did it to the T, but i blew my interior lights fuse at one point (didnt even hit the push start just opened the door) and then replaced the fuse, then proceeded to push the button it worked like a charm the 1st time then i mounted it and went to push it again and then i seen smoke and my push start smells like burnt ass, so i dont know how to fix the switch i know it can be done as well, what makes this job so difficult for me is i have to backtrack all the previous wiring done to install a viper alarm system by a shop so i had to tear all their **** out as well, please ppl only that are willing to help no comments about how ricey it is or anything, honest guy askin honest question

Sounds liek your switch has burnt out; take the switch out and run a voltmeter test on it to see if the amount of resistnace is correct.

just get a voltmeter and test the connectors; if there is the corrcet amount of resistance there then i am sure it is fine, but if there isnt then you will know that the switch ismessed up. Just curious, where is your push start, i put mine int he cion tray years ago and have never had anyissues with it at all( and in my opionion i thought the install i pe[rformed was kinda a "hack job" but seeing as i have yet to encounter issues with it i jsut leave it be.

The amount of resistance is somethign you should look into using a honda service manual fro the s2000. However it is a very easy test to do. In all honesty it soudns liek you had installe dthe switch without the proper ground. I will look online for the ohm amount you should be lookign to see ont he voltmeter. brb

ok icant find the ohm count for the starter switch but if you look on page 11-97 of the HSRM you will see the test that is offered to check the switch. heres a link to the s2k manual.

well if you have it hooked up and grounded wrong you will short out the switch and usualy blow a fuse, check your fuses, then test teh switch. you said earleir you got hte switch out and was inspecting it, was there any scorching on the inside? When i hooked mine up i ended up grounding it to the ignition ground wire that is under teh steering column. Can you start teh car without the switch using the key?
UNistall the switch completl;y and see if you can get ignition.

yah i can still start it regardless, i even used another switch to do so just took the place of the s2k switch, i can even cross the relay wire w/ the acc power wire w/ a screwdriver and it starts like a charm, this is what makes me think that it is the ground but i dont understant i tested the acc power circuit and that ground was a ground it had to be for the circuit to make 12v ya know man this is wack ha
