I need full mature answers please! I have a Honda Prelude Type SH 1997. I love my car but want to move on to something better. A 2 seater! Now the S2000 is a car Ive wanted my whole life and same with the 350z. I have more interest in the S2000 tho. Ive been going dealer by dealer trying to find the right one and still have not found the color and price. If I were to get a S2000 i would want a hardtop which ranges overall around 5k. But ive heard that s2000s running 70mph are already at 4000rpm in 6th gear... Similar to the prelude. Thats one thing I do not like. The 350z is much cheaper but what I dont like is that so many people own it. In the future its going to turn out to be like a Civic, Accord and Mustang. EVERYONES GOT ONE! So what should I go for? give me some positive things about each car PLEASE! you answers will help me decide and make a great decision. THANK YOU
You can get a HT for under $4k with strikers etc.... 4k RPM's in the S is much less noticeable then it was in the Prelude. The S2k has zero feel of "torque", it will be much closer to the way the Prelude is where you need to really run the motor out to get all of its power. Power to weight make it faster but its still very tame at low RPM's.
It's all preference. Go test drive them all. Do you want STRICTLY a 2 seater? Maybe the G35 Coupe would fit the bill also.
Sorry but not a huge fan of G35. Which I think look great. Im looking for miles less than to 30k in Immaculate condition. A G35 with that description is too much of my price range. Speed does not really matter to me. Thanks for the help fellas. Keep on comnig please!
I would get a 350 over a s2k, however, I'd get a 300zx TT over a 350, so if I were you, Id get a really nice low-milage 300zx TT, they are just a bit-ch to work on, hehehe.
But in all honesty, 2 seaters are impracticle.......then again, I'm 6'5" too.....
my neighbor has a 2008 350z nismo...only 2000 of them were made...his is number 1098 off the assembly line..its friggin fast as hell and they are unique and rare...with him and i in it last weekend we went 150mph in 5th gear with plenty to go and we still had 6th gear left...

maybe you could choose between 2 cars that are already way too common, wait....nevermind
Does that really matter though? I mean if its the car you like and it fits your needs then whats the big deal? And thinking about it outside of a STi or EVO what cars are similar in performance and less common in the same price range?
Ever consider an rx-8? That will be the car I move on to someday.... 230hp out of a stock 1.3 liter engine....mmmm...makes me drool....and that engine screams all the way up to 9k rpms.
But between those two, if you like to go fast get the z, If you like to have fun get the s2k. I never really liked the look of the z's and the 370's are even worse imo.
Yeah, I'd drool over a modern car with an engine that nobody wants to work on. One that puts out the same amount of power as a 5th gen, with worse fuel economy and questionably odd looks.
Dude you shouldn't be asking us. It doesn't matter what we think. You should be deciding for yourself. Test drive them. I guarantee that test driving clears up a lot of indecision.

It's odd but it looks better than a z, and has twice as many usable seats. It also has roughly the same power as the s2k stock and all 3 cars get about the same crappy gas mileage, so that is a moot point. Nobody is going to buy any of the cars in this thread because of their mpg. That little rev happy engine is loads of fun to wind up.
I'd probably go with the S2000. Sure, it doesn't have the V6 torque but it can still run a very low 14 with a 240hp 4-banger. The 350Z is a nice ride but come on... it has around 300hp and it's not even close to hitting high 13s??? WTF is that?! Cars like the NSX, STi, and Evo are all around 300hp more or less and they're hitting mid to low 13s no problem. As for the new 370Z, that's a different story...
