restore engine restorer and lubricant

So, I just recently rebuilt my h22a. It runs good, only has 600 miles on it. it has power , but I know the motor has felt stronger in the past. or my old h22a4 felt just a little bit more stronger.

Still breaking the motor in, unfortunatly in the beggining i messed up an ran full synthetic. for about 250 miiles before i switched to synthetic. so i'm worried that i'm not getting the best piston ring sealing. I've read on the web running synthetic the first 1k miles is bad because it's so slick and will blow by the piston rings and as the motor gets hot it will carmalize the cylinder walls stopping further ring setting.

so i'm thinking about using restore engine resotorer and lubricant with CSL. well If any of you guys have had personal experience with it let me know.

I plan on using it with the next couple of days. before I use it I will run a compression test and post it. after some mileage I plan on doing another compression test to see if there is any improvement.

thanks e-money for that link. looks like it has a lot of good info, didn't get a chance to read it all but will in due time.

here's the web address where i found that article on breaking in motors
New Engine Break-in Procedure

well here is my engine compression, not to happy with the results. I tested it at 5 cranks of the starter and 8 cranks of the starter. not sure which is the right procedure. i've heard mixed answer. after 8 cranks the psi doesn't climb anymore.

@5 cranks
1) 193
2)180
3)190
4)180

@8cranks
1)205
2)180
3)200
4)191

well not really satisfied with the results. by the way does anyone know the psi per cylinder in the h22a(10:6:1) compression?
I know the h22a4 is 200 psi per clylinder. I have got mixed answers from searching the web.......

could valve lash be effecting my compression. I think its funny how cylinders 2 and 4 have lower compression.

I will add the engine resore and lubricant tomorrow. I was a little skeptical about using it at first worrying that it could gunk up my motor but haven't heard anything bad about it yet. I also remember reading in an oil analyisis that there was a high ammount of lead in the oil of new honda motors, so i figure its safe to assume one of the additives honda uses to break in a motor is lead.

all engine restore is a mixture of lead and zinc, and a few other things. well i'm gonna run it and do another compression test in a 100miles.
right now i have 669 miles on the new motor.

Well I almost 1k on the motor. here are the compression results now.

5 cranks 8 cranks

1)190 1)200
2)170 2)185
3)180 3)190
4)180 4)195

I'm not sure what to make of the results.

the average i got from 8 cranks on test #1 was 194 #2 192
5 cranks was #1 743 #2 720

the compression went down but it seems the compression for the cylinders ended up being closer togeather.

I would still use engine restorer next time I rebuild an engine. I think running synthetic in the begining hurt my compression results.

I also re-adjusted the valve lash. turns out the honda manuals way of telling you how to do it is less accurate. my friend came by and did the valve lash. he said the best way is to make sure the cam lob is 180 degrees from the rocker arm so you now your at the lowest point or point that has the least presure. after he did the lash the engine sounded alot smoother. the valves have re-setteled and now i got to tune the lash one more time to make the engine sound tits.

In my opinion, from a strictly by-the-book standpoint as to whether you're ok or not: You're fine.

(as you've probably heard before)It's not high numbers, it's consistency.

Maybe your rings didn't seat properly?
