removing gum off rim?

Looks like I got a little bit of gum smeared on my rim and its on the polished part. (I have gunmetal with polished lips) Anyways, does anybody know how to remove this stuff w/o scratching or damaging. Im afraid to use any type of chemicals on the rim for in fear of ruining the clear coat. Any ideas????

WD-40 takes gum off really easy. Just wipe it up quick and rinse with soap and water after.

Goo Gone, I use it on my front bumper all the time to remove bug stains but be sure to rinse off the Goo Gone after you are done

i've used WD40 on paint before and did it really quick. If you're really scared you might wanna try a clay bar...try the detailing forum.

paint polish on a foam pad should do the job without any damage, but it might take some elbow grease.

I think Goo Gone will be fine on your rim as long as you don't let it sit there for a long time. Otherwise, use a clay bar to get it off.
