rear tint removal

hey guys, my tint has been on my car since i bought it back in 99 and im pretty sure its been on there long before that so its looking pretty messed up. The only tint lefton my car is the rear windshield (all the other windows we're shattered by crazy ex's and haters and replaced.) and i wanted to take it off by myself but dont know how hard of a job it is going to be....any pointers and tips would be good. a friend of mine said that the defroster linesmight get taken off along with the tint is that true?

if you do it right you can get it off without taking the lines...

Its you need some amonia and some plastic cover (painter's plastic to put over the seats, etc) and hose down the old tint. next take a razor blade at the top and lay it flat against the glass and peel up the tint. Peel as much off as you can without a razor once you have it started. then get a scrubbing pad and spray again with amonia or soap and water and scrub till the glue is gone. clean with soap and water and then clean with glass cleaner.

$40 bring it to me and i'll do it.

USE ONLY 0000 or less for scrubbing pads and don't use excessive force when scrubbing!

be very careful
the rear defroster lines can come off easily
if you break one your jacked for the whole line

Spray some window cleaner that contains amonia on the window then put a trash bag over the tint (the window cleaner will make bag stay in place). then park your car in the sun for while and you should be able to peel the tint off. You might have to go back and use rubbing alcohol or something to remove the glue residue.
