a friend of mine just got a vis carbon fiber trunk. when she put it on, there was nothing to screw the keyhole into on the inside of the trunk. for now, she just has it taped on. does anyone know of a way to fix this problem?

Reason: mispell
come on......i know there's gotta be at least one person on this board that put on there own carbon fiber trunk and can help me. it's not a huge favor i'm asking here.
I'm interested in this problem, too. I suppose you affix hood pins to the trunk? This must not be a very safe modification if you're worried about theft-- just take a crowbar to the trunk, shatter it and tear it apart.
How much weight do you actually save over the factory trunk anyway?
sorry, I've got a gemini, so no keyhole....did she compare it to the stock trunk to verify that it won't stay on? as for the weight, my gemini CF trunk weighs 8 lbs, my stock weighed 26 w/ the ITR wing....IIRC, it was at least 18-19lbs w/o the ITR wing.
I'm wondering if the roughly 30lbs saved when using a 12-13lb CF hood (painted, even) is worth it.
Seriously, if you can take 100lbs off this car by using lightweight parts, will there be any noticable performance advantage or improvement?
Add: what about improved weight bias and improved handling as a result of lightening the car 100lbs?
Anytime you can lighten the car, you will increase the cars ability to handle and its acceleration. It requires much much more than just a CF hood and CF trunk though.
