quaife

hey everyone whas up...about a month ago i order a quaife, and finally putting it in, but my mechanic finished it up last nite, and took it for a test drive, and noticed that there was some squealing, not realizing that there is gonna be when starting off...i was just wondering if anyone has a quaife in there car, and can let me know about how much..if any squealing at all comes out of the car, and what it really does sound like, cause he took everything apart to make sure he didnt mess something up, please help me out....i havent driven my car since 10/10... ...there was a problem with my countershaft, and final drive gear...i tore those aprt while racing, so the car was off the road in his shop, waiting for the countershaft to come off of national back-order...any help is much appreciated...thanks guys

Oh gezz, did he do this without a Helm's manual? Has he done one before? Do yourself a favor; buy a Helm's manual and take it to him. If he doesn't know the specs on the clearances and preloads, I can just about assure you that it's out of spec.

It's not your car's fault. If anything it's yours or your installer's. You should ALWAYS have a manual when working on any car. Since he works on exotics, he should know that. Not all cars are made the same, and have the same specs.
