Prelude vs 150lb doe.

Pics will be in the morning so you can get an idea of the damage.

This happened to my 97 Prelude SS. Flamenco Black.

This happened a few nights ago, but my prelude is still reeling in pain...

Just tonight for instance the spot where I hit it has made the bumper completely sag and the grill is cracked and broken in spots...it looks even worse now... just sagging half assed off the front.

There is a huge 2x2 foot dent on the hood where the deer harshly rolled up into my windshield and in doing so, while it did not break the glass it hit it violently enough to cause my rear view fall completely off inside.

I also noticed that from the force of the impact of the deer, the passenger side fender (being the side that absorbed the most force) literally looks as if someone has kicked in the back end of it with their foot or a sledgehammer. It makes opening the door hard...

The fun doesn't end there...after almost coming through the windshield it managed to come down ass end, dead weight and all and clip my driver's side fender good enough to cause a few good sized dents.

Admitting though, I was going too fast. Entering my alotment, there is a road I give it a little go then let it coast back down to 25 when I get in the actual neighborhood. I hit it doing about 35mph no breaking, head on. Just popped out of the pine tree line that goes along the road horizontally dividing one of the first yards.

I got a good look at it and it was a doe. Not a fawn by any means, yet not fully grown, a good 140-150lbs, judging by the size of the damn thing while it limped up and walked away. I bet it is dead though. It was a wildly violent collision...and it was tossed around like a rag doll.

The only good thing is my insurance is great, since my parents have a lot of policies with them they are paying for it, with no deductible to me or my family. Can't say I don't appreciate it.

New hood
New bumper
New Grill
New turn signals
New fenders (both sides).
New mirror (popped out the actually mirror inside my mirror.)

Lesson. Watch out for deer...

Pics within the next couple days. Prelude is going to be in and out of both the dealership and body shop for maintenance...all this when I was getting ready to 5 speed swap too...It's the prelude curse.

Ouch! At least you're OK! Not so much for the doe though. Post pics when you get a chance...

I almost hit an elk. It was 7 feet tall, its legs were as tall as my car. If it were closer, it would have been killed but I would have been stabbed in the face and chest with massive 8 point antlers at 50 mph.
