Prelude Gauge Cluster Question

This info that I have provided is from an ebay auction
This gauge cluster came out of a 01 HONDA PRELUDE with an MANUAL TRANSMISSION, BUT IT WILL ANY PRELUDE 97-01.

The mileage in these cars is stored in the cluster, NOT in the car's memory

The mileage on this cluster is only 50K!! IF YOU NEED ONE WITH A DIFFERENT MILEAGE, JUST LET ME KNOW WHAT MILES YOU NEED AND OUR TECHNICIAN CAN SET IT FOR YOU AT NO COST!!!! WE HAVE DONE THIS HUNDREDS OF TIMES AND ITS GARUNTEED TO WORK 100% OR YOUR MONEY BACK!!! ANY MILEAGE YOU WANT FREEEEEE!!!!!

Does anyone know how to do this change the mileage within the cluster. I know it is very illegal to do but I just put a built motor in my lude and would love for my cluster to read 000,000.

Take it apart and play with it lol

These things are all interchangable, that's how i have my original odo in my manual cluster... I use to have an auto. Just take yours apart, experiment, and if you f^ck up I can sell you the speedo/odometer section.

Or I could sell you mine after I figure out how to set it to 000,000

from what i recall from taking apart many gauge clusters, there is a small latch you can lift that allows you to turn the mini-gears on the odometer manually. however it is incredibly slow and you can only go forward, not backwards. It will take you forever =-T

Some speedometer-calibration shops have devices that can advance it with an electrical device to match what you need it to be at though

^ what he said with the latch. It will take very long time to roll back to zero, but it is possible...in theory

I had a similar problem when a speed shop took apart my gauges to install indiglo's. They ended up having to replace both clusters.
