You would need to acquire the Prelude Helm's manual in order to find out what it means and the troubleshooting procedure.

Or, if you counted the flashes already and have a number, you can search the forum for what it means. Granted that not all codes can be found here, anyone with a Helm's manual would probably look it up for you if needed.

Why take it apart? Drive it to auto zone, get them to give you the code for free, drive back home, type the code into the search box at the top of the page, read results, find your answer... No answer after those steps? Come back to this thread and post specific question so someone can help

The number the scan tool gave you will tell you if it's the primary or secondary O2 (before or after the cat) that is having trouble. It may be the primary that's the issue.

If you replaced the one it says is bad, you will have to troubleshoot the wiring and then the ECU.

ok, but during the replacemnt of the rear o2 sensor, i cut out the catalytic converter, and put a strait pipe through and drilled a hole for the o2 sensor. but the old one actaully threaded right into the catalytic convertor, so im wondering if i have to have the catalytic converter in it for it to function properly... any help is awsome thanks. oh i used the computer to shut off the check engine light twice. the first time it turned on within 30 seconds of driving. the second time it turned on agian after about 30 kilometers... Does this mean anything in particular??

LOL, yes you kind of need a cat in order for the emissions system not to freak out on you. If you remove the cat, you have to do the 2nd O2 workaround. Please search, it's written up here somewhere.

Yeah, I think the thread is "O2 bypass" and "Anti-fouler". It is from an s2ki user's thread.
