Oil pan gasket. Please reply fast!

hello. right now im replacing my oil pan gasket...

ok, i havent done much maintenance on stuff like this before...

Do i need some type of silicone sealant when applying the new gasket? please reply fast cuz im doin it now! TIA

no you dont, appling another layer of "liquid gasket" type sealant on it would just mean you would have two gaskets and thats a BIG BIG no no

just putting on the gasket it good enough, tho on the h22a4's, i believe the gasket was hondabond or some type of sealant, where they didnt use a rubber gasket or such, eh

I believe you can put sealant w/ the gasket; I know my oil pan had sealant on it when I dropped the oil pan; that junk was a ***** to scrape!

In the Helm for the 5th Gen it says to use liquid gasket on page 8-17. Not sure about the 4th Gens though.
