My car is CLEAN. Got my car smogged today.

So I was afraid of smogging my car due to the fact that I have a fair amount of modding including i/e, crower cams, type s pistons and a greddy emanage.

But damn, I passsed with flying colors! I think the tuning really helped a lot. here are my numbers:

What's cool about NA is that visually it looks stock. All I did was change out my cut valve cover, and everything was just fine.

edit: my car is a 2k type SH, 60k miles

my car had about an hour and a half of tuning with the emanage and cam gears.

the a/f ratio is really close to 13.5 across the board, and timing is advanced a few degrees.

i'm assuming the tuning creates more power by burning more efficiently, so you can actually get lower emissions with more power. just speculation though.

Damn Colin. I just got my car smogged and with even with I/H/E I barely passed . But you do inspire hope for tuning which means I'm now interested again with getting more performance parts .

BTW, did you get a visual inspection done as well or just the sniffer?

Damn I had my 99 SS smogged the other day and all I have is an AEM CAI, pullies and a mugen exhaust. Everything else is stock and my measured PPM's were 54.

visual as well, the only things that can be seen are the intake, pulleys, FPR, fuel pressure gauge and exhaust. Nothing caused a problem with them.

a heads up for anyone in the emissions test counties in Texas who are considering getting a jdm H22...the engine should pass emissions, mine did. I was really worried that it wasn't, pacing back and forth at the inspection center.
