Mugen Radiator Cap doesn't fit Toyo Radiators..

Well, after ordering my Mugen high-pressure radiator cap and finally receiving it this week, I went to put it on and the darn thing just wouldn't fit cuz it was too small. So I checked the King Motorsports Mugen site and the serial number for the cap listed there was the same as the number on my cap's box. So I tried to get it to fit one more time and no dice.

I have a Toyo Radiator and so I figure that if you've got a Toyo radiator you're screwed and the Mugen cap won't fit. Perhaps the cap only works for folks with the Denso radiator. Lucky buggers.

Oh well.

Just thought I'd post this here to save anyone else the time and trouble.

BTW - that cap is the exact same cap used for the Civic and Integra as well.

well when I put my Mugen Rad cap on my factory Radiator, I had to get an exacto knife and shave a very little bit off the edge of the opening around the radiator, then it was a tight fit, but it went on!!

Yeah, I guess that might have worked for me too, but I didn't feel safe cutting up my radiator.. especially at a pressure point.. heh. don't won't something weakening and having coolant spew out all over my engine bay.

Looks like it's the Spoon cap for me now!

Just make sure you get the right spoon cap for it. There are two (for the two different styles of radiator) and if you want I can check and see which rad I have and what the cap style I have.

Thanks for the heads up but I've done my research now.. the Spoon F-type cap is the one for Toyo Radiators and it's the one I need. After some more thinking about it, I think that the base models Prelude's come with the Denso radiator and the SH gets the Toyo.
