msd ignition installed [thanks to Dirtylude]

I have to say thanks to dirtylude for doing the write up on the msd ignition install.

I insatlled these components

MSD 6A-L w/ 7500RPM soft touch revlimit pill
MSD Blaster 2 coil w/ universal bracket
MSD 8.5mm wires

When i was installing the CRAPPY 8.5mm wires, the stupid crimp fell off. in the pics you'll see that i'm using the stock ignition wire for cylinder 2 and the rest are msd wires. stupid ppl....its been 2 weeks and they haven't returned the wire back to me yet. gr....only grip.

Everything thing else went as planned. The Ignition fired up right away and the only hard part was finding out where to put the damn coil. It's hard to see, but one sideof the coil is attached to the stock distributor poiint, and the other end is zip tied to a higher point to keep it up.

I haven't driven around too much with it (i.e. pushed it hard) so i can't give any good reviews on it yet. Also, I'm gapped at .030 and waiting to get new spark plugs as these have been going for 3k miles. i think i should gap them a little bigger, .035 to .040, what do you guys think?

anyway, heres some pics, sorry some bad pics here....

to view the stupid pictures, copy and paste into new browser...otherwise it won't work. anyone know how to fix this? it hought you had to put fp or fb or something instead of www, but that don't work no more.

stupid preludes. curses them for their lack of engine bay. Nah, everything is bolted down. The zetas are taped down for now, they were bolted down to the battery box where the msd was, but i moved it as you can see.

it's messy....but its pretty

I'm glad the article helped you. It's probably the one I get the most e-mail questions about.

Why didn't you get rid of the stock coil bracket? I assume you just left it in to help you mount the coil.

My engine bay is just as messy. I'm hoping after the engine rebuild and relocating the battery it'll help out the engine compartment alot.

The Haltech install is going well so far. I've gotten in touch with a few people who have done installs on Honda's and getting really good advice. I'll probably have it test wired in a couple weeks. I'll be writing up an install article on it as well.
