Fast? NO! You should always torque slowly with a clicker type torque wrench, especially with high torque values (such as head studs, lug nuts, etc). You overtighten by going to fast and going past the "clicked" point.

If you watch those a$$hats at Discount Tire, you'll get a good lesson in exactly how NOT to use a torque wrench. They go very quickly, and 9.99 times out of 10, the impact tightened the nut so much that the nut doesn't even move when they use the torque wrench. Which is probably why they go so fast! They know it doesn't make a difference at all!
