Major oil pressure issue!

so I have a 92 prelude with H23. I recently decided to rebuild the engine, because I was losing over a quart of oil a week. I pulled the engine I got arias high compression pistons, crower stage 1 cams, eliminated the balance shafts, toga HV oil pump. Machine shop did valve job, balanced the rotating mass and assembled the short block for me. Got everything back put it all back together and started it. There were a few issues that I took care of and now my only issue is low oil pressure. When the engine is cold there is no light and and the pressure is at 10 psi at idle and 40 just over 2000 rpm. once it warms up the light starts to come on. Then the light will start to flash. I've been trying to figure this out for 2 weeks now and I have run out of ideas. I am new here and was just hoping that someone might have a new idea for me. I have put a lot into this rebuild and still can't drive the car.

Sounds like a bad oil pump. Most oil pumps have higher pressure when cold rather than fully warm. But 10psi when cold is terrible, you'd want at least 20 at idle no matter when-in the first place.

Defective oil pump is my best guess.

P.S. Gauges can be wrong--find someone with a good mechanical gauge and see what the true oil pressure if you haven't already done so.
