maintenance light

i'm at 50,400 miles and my maintenance light just came on.

what's the deal?

Are you talking about the little green square that turns yellow after like 7.5k miles and then red at some point...? If that's it, then you could just stick your key in the black slot and it'll reset. It's just honda's way of reminding you that it's been that many miles and you should look into some normal maintenance.

my car was in for the 45,000 mile check

so it's only been 5,000 miles

it's just a milleage indicator in reality. It goes from green to yellow/orange to red. I'm not sure the intervals but I think the red comes on after 7,500 miles which indicates an oil change is due.

it turns from green to yellow around 5000 miles, and to red at about 7000. it really has no meaning other than that
