m2f4 vs m2s4

pretty much what the title is i have a chance to get one or the other for the same price, the f4 has better gearing but iv heard that the s4 has lsd? someone please confirm this!

if anyone here has a f4 or b4 transmission for sale please let me know asap!

if it matters i have and obd1 h22 in a bb4 with 9lb flywheel (dont know if it matters or not) i currently have an f4 but i believe the open diff blew on me becasue it completely locked up yesterday.

m2f4 is from the h22a1---shorter gears

m2s4 is from the h23-----longer gears
(did not come stock with lsd)

If you have the money to get a transmission you should save for something that has better gearing, Prelude transmissions are all to tall IMO, Accord Type R and Euro R transmissions are the way to go and they have helical LSD's.

^The U2Q7 is a WAY better deal than the T2T4, much more aggressive gearing, I'd say get it if that includes shipping. Don't see why it would be coming from Japan, you must be thinking backwards, the ATR was a European domestic car originally then Japan thought it was a good idea and made the Euro R for Japan for 98-02 (but only the final 2 years) body style. Even though it's a JDM it's called the Euro R because they aimed to compete with European sport sedans of the same class.

I highly doubt that trans is coming from Japan.

The M2P4 from the 99-00 UK 5th gen is exactly the same as the ATR U2Q7 but it doesnt come with LSD. If anyone has a probelm with finding a U2Q7, the M2P4 may be a cheaper alternative.

I have the M2P4 in my 5G and it is alot better

hey minilogoguy, what mods have to be done (if any) to put the u2q7 in a bb4 prelude with an obd1 h22? will it all bolt right on?

Absolutely no modification is needed, total bolt up. If you look at my sig you'll see I'm using the JDM Euro R trans which is the same but with a taller 5th for better highway MPG.

All Prelude and Accord transmissions minus ones from the Type S and Type SH are compatible from years 92-02.

Um, takes me like 2 1/2 hrs to get to Orlando which is almost like halfway, 10hrs is kinda an exaggeration. Why exactly are you talking about meeting up? I'm confused.

it actually sounds like a really good deal, i talked to the guy and he said the diff is brand new as well as the synchros, he said a firend of his was saving money to buy it from him for 1200 and the friend lost his job and couldnt afford it so he just put it up for sale to get rid of it. said its been sitting in his studio apartment for 2 months or something like that and he just wants it gone.
