Of all the brands of exhaust/mufflers out there, what is the quietest of them? First list your exhaust, then tell about your experience with noise. What is the quietest exhaust?

Mugen....

nearly silent at idle and up to mid throttle. Beyond that, nice deep sound with no buzzing, rattling, or booming. But i guess you get what you pay for!

I haven't heard it first hand but from what I understand the APEX-i WS is the quietest. Someone said they had heard it and it could be quieter then stock, besides that you'd be hard pressed.

And from what I've heard about people with Mugen is that initially it's quiet but after it breaks in it's much more pronounced...sweet sounding yes but I thought it was louder for sure.

Did you buy the Apex-i Silencer for it?

It reduces the noise by 7 db

Ummm.. yeah. I'm gonna go ahead and say that the Greddy SP is not quiet. RS*R is quiet. I have both, I should know it's all about sleeper style...

The mugen isn't as quiet as everyone thinks. At idle it is just a smidge louder than stock but when accelerating you definately hear the tone. It is a nice sound, deep up to 4000rpms and then gradually changes pitch beyond 4K into vtec range then it sings, music to the ears

Here's what I did.... took my exhaust off from the cat back. I went and picked up a large coffee can from the dump. I punched a hole in it and id the whole thing over my cat... so the hole of the cat matches the small hole in the can. Then, I went to lowes and bought some chicken wire... I wrapped this around the can and the cat to hold it in place. I finished it off by wrapping the entire thing with Reynolds Wrap about 35 times... used almost a whole roll.

I got 15hp... DYNO proven and it's like the car is in stealth mode... you can't even here me coming down the road (until I get within a mile or so)...

.WORD.

I bet a muffler from a late '80s Cadilac would be the quietest.

My A'PEXi RS exhaust is the quietest I have ever heard. If you want a quiet exhaust get the WS, nothing out right now is quieter.

If you were going to go out and get an aftermarket exhaust, why would you want it to be the most quiet?? If you wanted quiet, why not leave the stock exhaust on? For me, I like to hear my exhaust, it makes it worth the money I paid for it. That is just my .02
