There have been a few posts on this. Do a search under the user name Daemione, for water leaks.

Yeah, it's a leak in your trunk. The water sloshes up when you brake & soaks the rear seat cushion.

Ya fvcking water leaks suck. I'll take pics of my pretty interior tonight. It's empty. No front seats, no back seats, no trunk lining, no spare tire, etc.

I hate when the damn trunk leaks when ur car is parked for a month then u decide to drive it down the road....

make sure you pull them rubber plugs to help drain the water.

you will HAVE to take your seat out to let it dry outside. i don't care what you say. i never took mine out after i cleaned it up and made sure all the water was gone on the inside. then one day, pretty green/yellow things started growing on the back seat.

one hint - take the seat out to dry the cusion -- ask anyone.

Heh. You've got an alright chance of keeping things under control in CT. For me, winter's pretty much a lost cause. I think I took those pictures the end of March.

It's hard to see in the signature, but what I find most impressive in those pictures is the re-frozen slush buildup behind my front wheel. Fun Fun Fun . . . . Here's an expanded version for your enjoyment . . . .

Preluderider, check out the trunk side vents, moonroof drainage tubes, and taillight gaskets. I think my leak was a combination of all 3. It's finally under control now. And White98Lude is right, your seat cushion will never dry unless you take it out of the car. It can absorb a LOT of water - took mine about 2 weeks to dry out.

The largest percentage of my leak was coming in around the taillights. And there's not much you could do with filler or sealant around there, 'cause you have to be able to unplug wiring harnesses & replace bulbs later on down the road.

But if you can install Altezza's, you can fix it. Just make sure the gaskets are in good shape & seated right, and that the 6 little taillight nuts are tight. I replaced my gaskets to be on the safe side - like $9 a piece from the dealer.

I had a simular fault. When people were sitting in the back in wet weather, their back sides would get wet. The rear seat was wet, not on the surface, but deep in the seat. This went on for a few months. I had to drain out the little swimming pool around the spare wheel by removing the round rubber plug thingies during that time.

To fix it, I had to remove the rear seat (not the back rest). There is a silver metal / aluminium plate there which was not tightened correctly. Under it, there are a few electrical connections, maybe something to do with the 4WS electronics? I removed the metal cover and stuck some foam/sponge sealant around the edge (sort of like thick foam sticky tape), then screwed it back down tightly. It is OK now. I was proud of myself, seeing as Honda couldn’t find where the leak was coming from.

I remember reading your post about that while searching for a solution to my own problem. That plate directly underneath the seat is access to the top of the fuel tank . . . . I'm not sure how it would be leaking there.

Just put your stock tails back in. I had altezzas way back in the day and whenever it rained my back seat got wet also. Put the stock tails back on, seats have been dry since.
