I think it's normal for all exhausts to do it. It's like its breaking in the packing material or something in the muffler.

It's the gaskets I believe since after I installed my used (already broken in) exhaust I had the same smell for like a week...

It's actually the oil they coat the inside of the pipes to keep oxidation down during storage and shipping. Yes, it's normal to answer the question that was asked.

yea the world sport wasn't quite as loud as I may have wanted but it'll do for a while and I am thinking of taking out my resonator (not the exhaust piping one, the original one)

wow, no wonder mods complain about post whoring. How many more people are going to post on here saying "yah its normal, mine did it too"..... ok, I think he got it after the 5th time!!

Railsldr, the WS is really quiet at first but will get a little louder and deeper over the next month or so. I put mine on a couple of months ago and it is still slightly changing. Not overly loud at all though.

I miss this burning smell I got w/ my headers and exhaust... b/c it means you have nice, NEW parts, hehe. Oh well, I can get the new, burning smell when I get the 3" piping for my turbo, along w/ the RevHard turbo mani installed (not for awhile, unfortunately... )

Ahh the smell of new parts is the best. But I wouldn't be too worried about it. The smell will go away after about a week.
