Just got back from the Track

Hey all,

I just got back from a great night at PR (Pacific Raceway). I only did two passes, here is what I pulled:

Run #1:
R/T: 0.886
60: 2.300
330: 6.500
1/8: 9.915
MPH: 72.14
1000: 12.823
1/4: 15.277
MPH: 92.26

Run #2:
R/T: 0.663
60: 2.287
330: 6.469
1/8: 9.898
MPH: 71.72
1000: 12.819
1/4: 15.285
MPH: 91.96

It was very fun, I got to see so many different cars. I even saw a 9.40 racecar run, that was QUICK! There were a few SRT-4's out there, the fastest one was in the 13's A group of 3000GT's were out too, they were pretty quick.

Overall I had a fun time, got to see many cool cars run.

Later,

^^^ yeah
Was this your first time at a track? If so, I can understand the times you got. If you really push the car, I know you can improve your times a lot.

Well, according to this link: http://www.whowon.com/showtrack.asp?id=210

The track is at 250ft, that seems low to me but, okay. It was fairly cool out, around 65-70 dgrees

Yeah, these were the first time I have ever run the 1/4 mile. My R/T's were horrible, I know. I plan to get more practice in but I don't really want to push it too much, I am happy with those ET's. This is also witht he entire interior and a 3/4 full gas tank.

oh don't turn into some track snob scott.

and a 2.3 60' time is GREAT for a first shot. and don't bother with pulling your interior. the stuff that comes out easy weighs all of 25 pounds. MAYBE.

seems like great track conditions... 65-70 degrees I'd kill to have a day like that down here in houston. your R/T are not horrible and 60' are really good being your first time out. with some more drag experience, you should be able to hit ~14.7-14.8

i had a 2.6 60ft and i ran a 15.2 also. i think what killed me is the auto but if you get an aftermarket header it will help out a little and get you r closer to 14s. great run though

Yeah, I was really lucky the weather got better. We had been ahving 80+ days for the past week and my car was doggin' pretty bad but on the last day it gets overcast and cool

I know I could hit 14's but again, I don't really want to push my only car too hard and blow it. I even went to 4th at the end as I was getting a little far into redline in third before I hit the traps.

Overall it was what I was expecting from the trip, the car did very well. That is what I love about these cars, you can run them fairly hard and they will still drive you home in style.

And as to the track vs. strip, oops, I didn't know there were such sensitive people on here about that

Unless you're doing bracking racing, I thought reaction times don't matter?

Yeah, the R/T's don't count into the ET but I would still like to get mine up a little.

not bad for your first time....although it looks like you fell asleep at the light your first run or you were checking to see if it got greener.

Yeah, I was thinking it wasn't quite green enough.

Actually, I wasn't expecting the tree to go so fast and it kinda snuck up in me. I staged last so as soon as I got staged the lights started and before I knew it they were green, oh well.
