tiger japanese review

hey all, i didnt really know where else to post this so might as well do it here.

iv heard a lot of good about tiger Japanese auto inc. out of canada. but i have also heard a lot of bad about them.

i was going to get a new h22a motor from a local guy here in florida, but after he ran me around in circle waiting on a new shipment he was getting in 2 weeks i decided i might as well just order the motor online, it saved me a few bucks and i got a warranty. anyways, i looked all over for the most reputable site to get it frmo and it came down to tiger japanese.com witch was a kind of decent site, not too much bad but also not too much good. and hmotors.com, which had really good feedback but also a lot more expensive (tiger had a deal for 900 shipped, hmotors was 950 before adding shipping!) so i thought id save a few bucks and go with tiger motors.

now the bad i heard about tiger motors i realized was more with 6 cylinder motors like 2jz's and rb26's and such, but and maybe one or two d16 4 cylinder motor stories. never anything for an h, and i friend of mine got an h22 from them and it was fresh rebuilt, new pistons, ported and resurfaced. so i went with them.

well i got the motor 2 days ago and it is going in today, came packaged really well on a pallet and wrapped and tied tight to it. their service over the phone was phenomenal, the people i talked to were very nice and patient and even set up a date that worked around my schedule to drop it off. when i unwrapped the motor it was extremely clean, looked fresh pressure washed not one bit of dirt or oil on the outside, and the valve-cover looked freshly painted! (other places i have seen have chipped or scratches all over it.) everything was perfect so far about the motor.

i brought it to a mechanic of mine who is helping me examine it and replace anything that needs fixing, turns out not one sensor was broken or even cracked, everything looked like it was fresh from the factory. we cracked her open (knowing that when something seems too good to be true usually is, i was expecting to see gobs of sludge) instead i saw brand new gaskets and seals, polished internals, not one oil stain or mark anywhere inside. cams were perfect and smooth, pistons looked like they had just been forged lol. it was just pristine. it was ported and resurfaced just like the friend of mines was. we compression tested it and every cylinder had PERFECT (and im not talking they were close to each other, the numbers were EXACT)

in all the buy was great, low price, everything was new and rebuilt, now im not saying they do this themselves and you are going to get one every time because the chances are slim. but i can tell you it is a great value and they really inspect their motors thoroughly before shipping out to ensure you receive the best motor they can give you. now like i said before be wary of V6 or I6 motors of them because they seem to be the most troublesome. but h22s from them are great.

if more info is needed i will be happy to tell more, i will post pictures of us opening it up and of how it came as soon as i can get my camera
