Installing 5th gen Wings West RS Kit...

I'm planning on purchasing the Wings West Side and Back skirts for the 5th gen used. The skirts will not be coming with any hardware, that is screws, or double-sided tape. My two questions are:
1. Are screws necessary? (I'm not sure, because I haven't looked at the skirts for screw holes, and how much double-sided tape is necessary?
2. If I got them installed at a body/performance shop, would they be able to provide the necessary hardware? How much am I looking at to install 3 pieces?

Thanks a lot.

Yes, screws are necessary! And, double sided tape too...how much? The length of the skirts.

I had WW install my kit for me and it was $50.00 (but I had the tape on mine), so expect them to charge you for tape too.

Good luck.

If you know anything about cars, you don't have to be a genius to put the kit on you should just do it yourself. I could write it all down for you on one page what to do it's that easy.

You've obviously never tried installing a WW kit yourself....They don't fit properly! I installed the front lip myself, but the sides and rear were such a bad fit I took them back to the factory, and had them shave some of the inside of the kit off, and then install it there.

No but I have installed hundreds of other kits on several different models including Integras, Preludes (4th and 5th Gen), Miata's, SI's, and Supras. If you had that much trouble and had to go and get it shaved then you should have thought about getting a different kit.

But what about the screws and tape? Do I need a special kind of Wings West screw?

self-tapping screws preferred.

Installing the Wings West RS kit was pretty easy. I had no problem putting mine on. The kit is made out of Urethane so it has a much better fit then fiberglass. I didn't have to shave any parts. But if you did that wouldn't be a big task. I think that the RS kit is the easiest to install, but thats just me. Now what you need is like imagepree said self-tapping screws and if you don't have the double sided tape then you need that. Just make sure that you put the tape on the kit where the kit meets the car. Be sure to put tape on the kit where you can't see it when its on the car. Also be sure to clean the area where the tape is going onto. Hope this helps.

Its not the uncommon man. I had to have the same thing done with my sides cause they didnt fit right. It happens, sometimes the paint warps the kit somewhat even after properly fitting before painting.
