Insight steering wheel swap

Hey all,
I'm planning on swapping out my bland 5th gen steering wheel for an Insight wheel. I was going to switch to an S2k wheel, but the grip components are about twice as much as the Insight's and they look very similar. Anyway, I've read a couple of articles on removing stock wheels and replacing them with non-SRS ones but none on wheels with airbags. I was hoping that someone would know where I can get a manual for OEM honda maintanance/parts. Or could someone tell me exactly how to do it? email: chrisunguez@hotmail.com. Thanks guys!!!

I suggest you do a search, this has been discussed before.

Check out http://www.ntpog.org/mods/fifth-hub/fifth-hub.shtml for a how-to on replacing the steering wheel. While this page is aimed at an aftermarket hub/wheel, the procedure is the same. If you can get a Helm (factory) manual, the procedure is the same as in there. You shouldn't have to do anything other than remove the stock wheel and put the new one on- they should be fom/fit/function compatible.

AFAIK, the Insight's wheel is the S2k wheel w/o the leather wrap. I'm sure that's available seperate, or an upholstry shop could do that for you.

fliptout, you will need a steering wheel puller or similar. Most auto shops sell these, just be sure to get one with metric bolts. I honestly don't see how you could do it without one, the spline is tapered which means it's an interference fit. You'd have to be an 800 lb gorilla to get it off without.
