hello everyone, i bought a 1992 prelude sr which had the 2.3 L non vtec and the guy said he had an h22a that he would install for 1500$, so without even chekin out the engine (which trust me , i knwo it was stupid) i just gae him the cash, now turns out it was actually a sohc f22a vtec engine !!!!, dose the sohc 2.2l vtec give me any advantage over the dohc 2.3l non-vtec or did i really mess this one up?
Ah missed the 1500 installed part last time. You could always build a franken motor, my buddy is working out an F22 frankenmotor right now that should make 200ish when it's done at the wheel.
well the guy had to get the wiring harness from the accord and customize a bunch of stuff, will this be possible, and what exactly is a frankenmotor, clearly i dont knwo anything about working on cars so im not going to pretend i do .
wish i woulda looked into this a little better , looks like im the deuschbag .
Don't think that way. I understand what it feels like to get suckered; I have been suckered for money than most people on this forum would believe. Do what you can to get your money back, and next time make sure you are armed with information.
The fellow from whom you purchased the car would be roughed up and have his car quickly stolen if he dared to use the same tactics toward anyone in my inner circle. here, here...
Fixed!

alright , well i need some advice then , and please if ya know people on here tell them about this thread so i can get as much imput as possible, i just spend alot of money putting this **** engine in and now i would liek to know what i shold to to get some performance out of it. please give me suggestions and the estimated price of these suggestions, thanks everyone, yours truly ..the deuschbag that got ****ed over.
H22A1: 195hp 156tq
H23A1: 160hp 156tq
F22A1: 135 hp 142tq
if it's a f22 vtec then it's not the f22a1.. it would be the f22b series (unless he mated the sohc vtec head to the f22a1 that came in the S model prelude)

Perhaps.
However, I was just trying to get the basic point across. I didn't feel like getting too in-depth with all the F22 variations.

oh that's cool broseph. i wasn't trying to say you were wrong.. but if he was trying to sell the motor, it would be useful to know what the f*ck that jack*ss really sold him.
well i plan on trying to boost the piss out of an f22a1 i got for 20 bucks.. so i'll let you know how that goes
it's really up to you man, but i'd say atleast 90% of the people on here will tell you to drop an H22 in it and just sell what you got. i think you can pick up a complete f22b for like $400, but just do some research and see what they are going for if that's the route YOU wanna go

He could just paint the valve cover red and sell it to some idiot as a JDM H22.
....oops.
