I want to find a reliable mechanic/auto shop in the Los Angeles area (preferrably near the Valley 818 area) since I have all sorts of plans for the hooptie. A place where I will rest well with my car in their shop for days/week at a time. I also hope to find a place that's not run by 18 year old punks who only take care of their friends pretty much Ahhh it's so hard to find a good babysitter and doctor for your babies
I know it's not in the Valley...but my friend kept his Lude at Dynamic Autosports (?) in Irvine for like weeks/months at a time during a turbo buildup and they were really good with his car. just a suggestion.

dynamic is full of high school kids (at least the last time I went it was), the only place around here (south OC) that I would recommend is Area51
I live in the valley... and my mechanic is awesome and extremely knowledgeable. Paul can do, and install anything you want. Give him a call and tell him that Tyler sent you. Ask for Gene (Owner) or Paul(head mechanic) when you call.

doe - I got my kit painted at Total Performance Racing in Van Nuys. My cousin does a lot of his body work there. They did a pretty good job with my out of shape kit. I don't remember their phone number but they are off of Saticoy and Woodman avenue in the valley. Sorry for the lack of info

I actually work at Roscoe & Woodman. I'll swing by there this week.
Cool, my regular route every morning to work is taking Woodman all the way down to Sherman Oaks from P. City. I believe the shop is on Saticoy, east of Woodman.
The bodyshop that I use is great as well... they work so fast, and do such great quality work. I had them fix the damages from 3 accidents at one time (Smashed fron end, gouged rear 1/4 panel, and banged up rear bumper), and they had my car back to me in 72 hours, and even shaved my the two holes for my front "H" emblem for free. They usually work on Ferrari's and other exotics (Ive seen Nicholas Cage there picking up a 360 Modena he had killed), but will do regular cars. Here is there info.

Ask for Rafael...
BTW: I have been to "Total Performance Racing" and wasn't impressed with their business. To me they are just another "Import Shop" that doesn't keep there own stock, and uses a main distributor wherehouse for parts. Im not trying to offend anyone, Im just giving my opinion.
another note about my mechanic... he is located right across the street from a Honda Dealership, so you never have to wait for parts to come in. They just walk across the street and get things if they dont have them in the shop.
