How often do you use VTEC?

How often do you take your car into VTEC and how do you feel about it?

I probably average using VTEC once a day. I feel great while I'm using it but after I'm done I kick myself for doing it and am afraid I'm going to hurt my car .

repost but yeah. you won't hurt your car if you keep it in top notch shape.

the vtec mechanism has never been known to fail. in the millions of vtec equipped cars, there are virutally no cases where vtec failed (this was from jeremy clarkson)

most failures are due to other stuff

^ yea. vtec might not work sometimes however, due to low oil compression. or when you have a CEL

i use it when i have a full tank. after i lose a couple bars i don't really use it, at all. merging on the highway, now and then

At least 4 times per tank unless I'm in a vtecing mood. This will probaly escalate after I get a 5spd. Then I'll get 190 miles per tank lol

VTEC is still new to me... I don't worry if anything is going to break...I worry more about gas consumption. As long as you maintain your engine well: decent grade fuel, change the oil and oil filter regularly, and everything is running smoothly I wouldn't be worried about anything breaking.

Unless of course your running till you hit the rev limiter every time...

When you guys (^^^ all of the above) sell your cars, let me know. You'll be on my "Least Likely Abused Car" List.

Hahaha, I feel so bad for my car when I read threads like this.

I Vtec'd at LEAST once a trip. More than likely, I got into VTEC every time I starting rolling unless there was traffic in front of my. I loved the sound and feel of it.

Don't have VTEC now in the Z but I definitely get on it almost everytime I drive it. All it does is put a on my face... actually more like a .

My gas gauge moves everytime I hit vtec, even if it's only for one gear. I only hit it when I need to reassure myself that the lude actually does have some power hiding in it.. otherwise I drive around under 3k which produces around 100whp, pretty lame.

LMAO!

I use mine more than I probably should. But Mine is not a daily driver... I also work from home so it only sees the road a couple times a week... Mostly short trips...

I use it A LOT on track days tho!
