I just bought a 2001 prelude, the previous owner put larger spoiler on and I want to either remove it fill the holes in or replace it with a stock spoiler.
I noticed that even without the spoiler the origional owner installed my prelude still has 3 brake lights (one behind the rear window). The stock OEM spoiler on the prelude has a brake light built into it does that mean my prelude didn't come with a spoiler from the factory?
if there are 4 small holes on the side and a big hole on the right side next to the small holes, then there was a spoiler, if it doesn't have holes, then there's nothing to worry about or you can simply purchase a spoiler for your car. Post some pics up

Thanks for the reply, ya after looking online I found the original spoiler install instructions, the location for the factory spoiler holes are roughed in. I purchased a factory spoiler that matched my paint colour from eBay and installed it.
If your prelude is a base model, it did not come with a spoiler. If it is an SH, it came with a spoiler. Since you said your car has the 3rd brake light, it means it is the base model. The SH models do not have the 3rd brake light because the factory spoiler had it instead.
I'm pretty sure bases had spoilers as an option, but always had a 3rd brake light on the rear deck regardless.

^ Rear deck spoilers were an OPTION on the base model prelude - upto the buyer's discretion. You will still have the interior 3rd brake light.
Type SHs came with the spoiler from the factory and eliminated the need for the interior 3rd brake light.
Just because your car comes with the spoiler equipped does not always mean it came as a factory standard.

My base came with a spoiler... sooooooooo... your wrong?
Like Jack-in-the-box says, all BASE Prelude spoilers were OPTIONAL. All SH spoilers were original equipment. My base Prelude (bought new in 2000) was picked up w/o a spoiler @ the dealership. I drove the car wingless for a week before having the spoiler mounted.

aye that's why I put a question mark on the end of "your wrong"... it was like a request for clarification, because whoever it was wrote "your prelude did not come with a spoiler" or something along those lines
I still honestly don't know crap about these vehicles
and nobody uses correct grammar and shizz on the internet... but after I posted that, "your" was the first thing I noticed I wrote lol
