Hot Battery

I hooked up my battery charger today because my car has been sitting for awile in the garage and i just checked it and the battery was really warm.Ive never noticed that before and i double checked the connection and there correct.What would cause that?

Batteries get warm when they charge. They get warmer when you are overcharging them. What kind of battery charger are you using? Does it have any sort of overcharge protection? Does it trickle charge after its done charging?

Thermal runaway cannot happen to car batteries. They happen only to LiPo batteries. That article is very misleading.
