I wouldn't call the permatex 'worse' as it should still function admirably.
I can't tell for sure about the properties of my two dried blobs as far as which would work better in the engine (I would suspect that the extra flex of the hondabond is superior.)
But given the choice, I will use hondabond, as it is easier to work with initially, and easier to clean up afterwards.

It's funny, because I bought the tube fully expecting to have wasted an extra $7 on RTV that was just marked up... but the Hondabond is definately a different product.

Sorry to dig up a new post, but I was curious if anyone has compared the Right Stuff Import sealant to HB HT?

I'm going to be doing my cam seal on Thursday and am trying to decide which sealant to go with....

Hondabond is not similar to any product I've been able to find in auto parts stores, in terms of ease of use and cleanup.

I agree. I've never found a similar product that is as easy to apply, comes off so cleanly, and seals as good as Hondabond HT. I really hate the Hondabond4 stuff. It's too "stringy" for me. I only use Hondabond HT.

that really doesn't say much. I don't care that its strongy, how well does it do its job in comparision to Hondabond HT.

It's the same thing, just HT is made for higher temps.

It should be fine for the valvecover, but for the way it behaves, and the price, may as well get Permatex instead of HB 4. HT is the only one worth the price premium.
