I am in the market for a Prelude, but it seems like there are not too many around Nebraska. I have been looking around on Craigslist, Copart, Cars.com, and Auto trader for the last 3 months but never had the chance to buy a 5 speed Prelude. Where is a good place to look besides those and this website?
I was in MInneapolis Minnesota, the car was in Omaha Nebraska. This was back in January 2005. A friend gave me a ride down in the 93 Accord 2dr EX 5spd I sold him. It was part of the deal when I sold it.
Found my Del Sol on Craigslist.
Car was in Denver, Colorado. I took a plane from Tucson, Arizona to there to get it. That was October, 2010.

PreludePower.com is a joke and is ran by kids. The Off Topic Whores and the MODS who require being respected and threaten people when they feel they are not. What a joke. BTW, don't ask them a question as they will answer with a ban.
SoCalPrelude.com MODS only inforce rules on some and not on all. Kyle is a joke.
BTW, Eric Schultz in CA is a known scammer. He did it to me, he can do it to you. Just a heads up. Know as "backinblue92" here on PO.com
But check out the forums as well [ie. here at preludeonline or Honda Prelude Forum : Honda Prelude Forums]. And be willing to drive a few hrs to find the one you want, or you might have to settle for something else.
Craigslist. Expand your search area to surrounding cities. Carmax's prices are always ridiculously high and it's hard to find an honest used car dealership.
I wouldn't go so far as flying out to buy a car from CL like H4L did because you risk finding out the car is a turd when you get there, and you'd have no other way to get back.
Patience is the key. It took me over a year to find one I was happy with.
Honda4life- did you buy yours from a private seller or a dealer?
I like buying from a private seller for many reason vs. a dealer.

That's why I had a very trusted friend who knows cars check it out before I went.
I didn't go completely blind.
Also I had run a carfax before I even had him go.
You need to cover your bases before buying any car.

carfax's may not always be the best way to judge if a car is in good shape as inorder for the carfax to be accurate All the previous owenrs would have to report all incidences and damages. Not everyone is honest like that, once when first got my blue one, i ran a car fax on it and it came up clean but then after i owned it gfor a week and was detailing it i found dried paint drips all in the inside opf the drivers door. As it turned out that car had beeen t boned and repaired and the lady who owned it just fixed it and never reported it to carfax so when i looked up the car it had clean record but had already been had been in a collision. Anyway, before makign a car purchase make sure to go over the car good and dont put all your metaphorical eggs into a carfax basket.
First prelude (99') bought new from dealer
Current Prelude (00') found on Autotrader 120 miles away. My friend Jay (ludehawk) drove me there to pick it up (great guy).
My first Prelude (Green, Auto, 99) I found on CL, and drove from SW Oklahoma to Southern Texas to pick it up with a trailer. Was so excited about getting a Prelude my mind blocked out all the signs of it being submerged in water, and it had a serious overheat to lose all compression not even a month later.
My second Prelude(Black, Manual, 99) I found on Ebay, and won the bid for $2,400. Went to pick up the thoroughly riced thing (ebay everyting) with a trailer in northern Kansas. The CAI was not even 4" off the ground with no guard, as I soon found out maybe a month later when it hydrolocked and blasted a double-fist-size hole in the block, through some light puddles. Got a new engine and am currently fighting kinks+de-ricing for now.
