Help! parking lights/dash lights dont work, but headlights do.

Just as the title says, the headlights, turnsignals, and brakelights still work but the parking lights do not. I know, I know, telltale signs of a blown #10 fuse, but this time its different, I checked ALL the fuses with a fuse checker, and they were all good, including the #10fuse. "so no check your fuses, please" thanks...=) ok so what are the possible problems here? Multiplex unit? faulty combo switch? bad relay? I am not home so i cannot diagnose this with the helms.

thanks

Oh i forgot to mention that the rear defroster, windows and moonroof still work, so im not sure how the multiplex works but i think it controls all of that right? Plus I am not sure about the relay cause if that is bad then the headlights shouldnt work either right?

I would think that is would be the combo switch

yes i do have an alarm but the lights dont work with that either so i think the source of the problem would be before the alarm.

note: all the fuses have connectivity

yea...the combo switch was my main guess....crap, how hard is it to replace it?

oh and about the multiplex, does it control the door locking mechinesm too? reason i ask is because for some time now its been shorting out or something, where it would activate and lock on its own, randomly. example: ill be driving, and ill hear the door trying to lock as if i pressed down on the lock switch, it would do it while parked too with the doors already locked, so youll hear it "trying" to lock.

well if it does then i guess i have reason to believe that problem might be related.....

can someone tell me where the mutiplex unit(s) are located exactly..so i can check them later?

thanks.

maybe you can double check the fuses again, pulling them out and actually taking a look at them.

I have occasionally found connectivity between semi-blown fuses; that could be causing the problem.

ah yes i knew someone would say something about the fuses, i looked at each one before i went out to buy a tester just to double check.
thanks anyhow

ive ruled out the combo switch because the lights do not activate with the alarm either, the fuses, and the relay.

Any other ideas? where did all the electrical gurus go?

man i wish i had my helms!

ok so i start diagnosing the problem when i get home with the helms...it was dark and i didnt get alot done so i set the alarm and went out to a bar. When i pulled into my dark driveway, my parking lights were on! Weird! Apparently i left the combo swith in the first position when i was diagnosing it earlier, and the problem fixed itself! now i just have to see how long this last...
