Hello, I had a friend do a JDM H22A swap on my 1992 Prelude Si. The car had previously had one in it but the dude I bought it from didn't do it right and the motor blew. After he did it I still had the P14 ecu in it and it ran fine (minus vtec). When I went to buy a p13 so it would run with vtec the guy only had p14 converted to p13's. he said it would work just like a p13. Well now the car tries to bog out like the RPM's are going up and down and the check engine light is on. My car guy is working a lot and said over the phone he does not know why it would do this. Any ideas? Appreciate all advice. Just remember I am not that car knowledgeable so any slang words I will prob not know.
There is no way to mod a P14 ecu to operate VTEC to my knowledge, you need a P13 if you want the engine to run right, then pull all codes, fix, then come back and ask.
Get a Helms factory manual.

Probably bogging because of the P14 H23 ECU. H22 has 345cc. H23 has 240cc. I also had a P14ecu on my 95 lude with vtec before. It bogged crazy, ran it for a week to work till my p13 arrived. And mini is right. No way you can mod a P14. In your shoes, I would try and find a P13 first... before anything else.
