HELP ASAP: Sylvania Silverstars

I bought a set of 9006 ST Low beams for my car today...when I went to install them I found that they dont fit. there is a small plastic piece in the plug area that is not the same. what do I do?!?!?! shave it off? it doesnt look like it needs to be there. anyone else with Silverstars, what did you do? I'm 110% sure they are the right ones, at least according to Sylvanias site...

someone help me before it gets dark!!!!!!

heeh .. I got 9005 in my low beam on purpose .. brighter

for future reference, you can use a dremel and take out that groove and it'll fit .. ... note::

The high beams are on the inside fo 4gen, the low beams are on the outside.

I dont think so ... from my other post about my hood gettin smooshed I cant really take a photo ... but it's about the same, the beam pattern is broke a little bit coming out the sides but I haven't noticed any glare ...

ok got 'em installed earlier today; These are definatly worth it, they are alot brighter than stock but they dont look real flashy, no blue, just white. I think I might have to go get some 9005s for my highbeams

yep no problem, some people know how to do things, and some people learn by doing it wrong first. I spend a lot of time repeating things. haha

Joon– you might have accidentally gotten skin oil on the bulb. If that happens it will overheat and crack.

Nope, I wore gloves the entire time I put them on. They were cool while they lasted. Maybe I got a defective bulb but I don't really care anymore.

I just had that happen to me with my Silverstars a few weeks ago. I didn't think I touched the glass at all, but now that the bulb is burnt out, you can see some lines from where it looks like I nicked the glass with my thumb.

Man go get yourself some HELLA Ballast and some Phillips bulbs (STOCK HID's) and retro it. They will last you for a while!

Well if you miss your HID's too much!
