Heating Element on Rear Window

When I bought my 4G, I found that the defrost for the rear window isn't working, I haven't troubleshot the circuit yet, but due to the fact that my car looks like its been tinted once or twice, If it ends up being the heat element being scratched up and no good, is there anywhere or anyone that fixes the heating element?

I don't think this thread should be moved to FOURTH GENERATION section only because the problem is with his 4th gen. All of the preludes have rear window defrosters and his question may be answered by anyone on this board. So there! For all you mods: Think about the nature of the question a little bit before you move the thread around, please.

If the problem lies in the actual conductors on teh glass (little colorred lines), it can be repaired. Autoparts stores sell little kits to do it. It has basicly some conductive paint and a stencil that you use to complete any broken lines, restoring the circut.

Thanks for that info man, my next question would be this... because physically the lines look good, why dont it work. LOL, the button lights up when I push it, but nothing happens to the rear deck, is there anything you can advise me to check? Thanks bro.

you need to use a multimeter. I could go through the process to check the levels on the defroster, but then again it would be easier for you to read it from your repair manual.
