Heater Doesnt WORK!!! HELP!!

hey, i got a 1993 lude si and this is my problem:

my fan switch only works when turned on the highest setting and when it does turn on it makes a really loud noise coming from the blower motor ( im assuming its broken..) it does not blow any air in also...

so other then the blower motor, what else do i have to replace to get my heat working again?? please help it just snowed where i live and its VERY VERY COLD!! lol

Well the blower motor resistor is bad. Thats the reason for only 1 fan speed.

#7 in this parts diagram.

Part Detail

As for it making noise, pull the motor out. Could be there is crap (leaves and stuff) in it causing the noise. Or it could be a bad blades on the fan or the motor is going bad.


BTW, there is a 4th gen section this should have been posted in.

anyone know where the resistor is located exactly or know how to get to it plz?

Under the dash on the passenger side. To the left of the blower motor. Should be heldin by 2 bolts/screws.
