Has anyone install an extra cigarette lighter outlet?

Recently, i've found that i need more than 1 outlet, but i don't wanna get those power strip things from rice stores. I was thinking of getting something from honda, like the aux outlet for a crv, the one w/a cover that they put in the trunk area.

Are those the ones with extra outlets you just plug into the cigarette lighter?

He probably needs one for his radar detector, phone charger, or laptop charger. What I did with mine, was buy a double cig lighter thing that plugs into the cig lighter. I don't remember how much it was but you can find it at walmart or at a discount autoparts.

u guys should just re-wire em...

that way u dont need so many outlets.

for the cell fone ones.. just solder some connection wires to the plug place, then tap those into the wires behind the socket.. and hide that **** behind the cluster and u wont see it, then just have a wire comin out wherever...

You can do all of what Ludatic said, or simply go out and buy one of these babies. It was like 5 bucks.

Yes, I know, it kinda looks like you know what.... I like it how this fits though, when it's pluged in it's flush with the dash, so it looks as if it was part of the car.

this may be just me, but i usually never have more than one thing in my car at any given time that i'm not willing/not able to hard wire into the cars electrical system... my current project is a piar of light up fuzzy dice... some say they're rice, but these ones actually look good in the daytime, they're dim enough when lit so you can't see the light during the day... and they aren't clear plastic... these will be wired so they are switched with the parking lights...

if you want another outlet though, places like shucks and napa have auxillery lighter outlets you can buy... they wire into the existing lighter wiring and you still get to use the original plug...
