h23 injectors into h22 obd1? - Honda Prelude Forum

I've tried putting '94 si injectors into my '94 VTEC and the car wouldn't idle. It would start and as soon as rpm droped it would stall. I tried giving it gas but it started puping from the exhaust and didn't rev smooth. Question is why didn't they work? I thought just because they are lower cc would mean I shouldn't rev high but at lower rpm it should be fine.

I think it is because the ECU is expecting a certain amount of fuel to be dispensed over a given time and this is no longer the case. It won't idle because the ECU is only activating them for a short period of time at idle and they smaller H23 injectors don't dispense enough fuel during that time.
