H22A SH Tranny

I'm trying to find out some information on the H22A and it's ability to bolt up to an SH transmission. I was told that it will bolt right up, but I just wanted some more opinions before I buy it.

Thanks for the help.

Why would you want to bother with a SH tranny? You would HAVE to use the ATTS unit, as the SH has a "special" differential. But to answer your question, yes it does bolt up.

Well, I'm looking to build up a second engine for my car, and it's an SH. At this point, I don't want to have to buy another tranny if I don't have to.

I think a problem is going to be the mounting points for the ATTS unit. The base H22 block will have the bolt holes for the intermediate shaft. The SH block will have the bolt holes for the ATTS unit. They are different bolt patterns. The SH block also uses a different oil filter/cooler mount to clear the ATTS unit.

To continue using the atts tranmissino with a h22a you will need to make a special bracket for the atts unit to bolt to and you will need to get an oil filter relocation kit. The type s motor will work fine with no problems becuase like stated above it came with atts. The best choice though would be to loose the atts and just get a good lsd.

The Type S is an easy swap for an SH, only buy the long block unless your tranny is shot. You'll have to swap the oil pump housing (~$160 complete) so you can use the US crank sensors, you'll also need to swap over your wiring harness. That would be your best option IMO. ATTS>LSD unless you drag race alot.
