Funny cooling fan issue

So my car has had a funny overheating problem ever since I swapped in a JDM H22 it only overheats at night! I drive through nasty traffic all the time during the day without any overheating issues, but sometimes even in the slightest bit of traffic at night the temp gauge starts going up.

It started overheating tonight when I was idling with my lights on in a parking spot. I ran to the front of the car in time to see the fans turning off and when I checked the gauge, it was back down to normal. I'm guessing they are either not turning at all sometimes or there is a delay until they come on.

I never had this problem with the H23, so I'm guessing during the swap I must've missed a ground or something.

Any ideas as to what may be broken?

I hate when old cars start having funny electrical problems

Its new from Honda.

It won't overheat during the day while stuck in traffic in near 90 degree weather but starts to overheat at night when its in the low 60s... Turning on the A/C and heater brings the temp right back down
